DaVinci Resolve OFX plugin
Filmtone for DaVinci Resolve
Film damage on your footage. As a one-time purchase.
Filmtone is an OFX color-grading plugin for DaVinci Resolve. It layers film-native dust, fibers, scratches, stains, and gate wear onto digital footage — deterministically and independent of resolution. Not a subscription.
No signup to try it. Run fully unlicensed and every feature works, with a “FILMTONE — TRIAL” watermark on each render — no time limit.

Film Damage
Deliberate film wear, on purpose
Filmtone's Film Damage is built around a film-native character: dark debris dominates, and white sparkle stays restrained. It integrates with your footage instead of dropping cheap white-fleck overlays on top.
Dark-debris character
Dust, fibers, stains, broken scratches, and gate-edge dirt. White sparkle stays rare and subordinate, for a sunken, film-like feel.
Independent artifact families
Dust, fibers/hairs, scratches, stains, and gate wear each dial in separately. Set every family to zero and it is an exact passthrough (identity).
Deterministic, resolution-independent
Same time, fps, seed, and params give the same result. Artifacts have coherent lifetimes and fades — no random per-frame popping — and scale matches between proxy and full resolution.
One-time purchase
A one-time purchase, not a subscription
The closest comparable tool for this kind of finish is sold by subscription only. Filmtone offers that ground as a one-time purchase you keep. This does not claim quality parity with any specific competitor.
Two ways to try
Try it first. For free.
Filmtone has two ways to try it: a permanent watermarked mode and a 14-day clean trial.
Permanent watermarked mode (no signup)
Run every feature, unlicensed, for as long as you like. Each render carries a “FILMTONE — TRIAL” watermark. No time limit and no signup — this is the always-available evaluation floor.
14-day clean trial (request by email)
Request it with an email address (no credit card) and a signed license arrives by email. 14 days fully watermark-free, then it automatically reverts to the permanent watermarked mode.
Pricing
Buy once, keep using it
For the first 30 days after launch, the launch price is $39 ($10 off the normal $49).
- 1 user, up to 2 Macs
- Commercial use allowed (no budget-tier restriction)
- Free v1.x updates
- A future major v2 would be 50% off for existing owners
Full licenses are emailed within 24 hours of purchase confirmation (usually much sooner). Want to start immediately? Request the 14-day trial below — no wait.
14-day clean trial
Try 14 days watermark-free
Enter an email address and we will send a signed 14-day trial license. No credit card required.
Drop the attached “Filmtone.license” into ~/Library/Application Support/Filmtone/ and it takes effect.
